The season's collection reflects MUJI's sustained commitment to unique, consciously sourced materials and unparalleled quality. Utilizing natural materials fit for the Spring season, new pieces include denim & twill trucker jackets, wide-leg pants, and light knits crafted from traditional Japanese washi paper. This centuries-old fabric is derived from the natural fibers of the Paper Mulberry plant, and is then intertwined with cotton yarn to form a uniquely durable, environmentally-conscious textile.

Continuing the brand’s dedication to intentional production practices, gathered maxi skirts and flowy dresses are crafted from Ramie — a plant cultivated in Eastern Asia that when spun into yarn, creates a cellulose textile that is both stronger and more moisture-absorbent then flax, cotton, or wool. The fabric is highly breathable, and comparable to linen in feel, making it ideal for the Spring season.

Originally conceived as a space for MUJI to explore different apparel concepts with an experimental and creative approach, LABO remains a laboratory for MUJI’s innovations in material and design. The latest collection is a continuation of LABO’s renewed design aesthetics, showcasing an elevated creative vision while continuing to amplify the creation of timeless, enduring designs. With its classic, yet contemporary appeal, LABO is forming the next generation of basics and continuing to push boundaries through imaginative materiality and minimalist, contemporary designs.

The collection is now available to shop online at muji.us and in select stores across the US and Canada. Pieces will continue to launch on a rolling basis through April.

About MUJI

MUJI, originally founded in Japan in 1980, offers a wide range of low-cost, good quality products including household goods, apparel, food, and even houses. The name derives from the company’s original name in Japanese: Mujirushi Ryohin, meaning No Brand, Quality Goods. MUJI is based on three core principles, which remain unchanged to this day: selection of materials, streamlining of processes, and simplification of packaging. MUJI’s products, born from an extremely rational manufacturing process, are succinct, but they are not in the minimalist style. That is, they are like empty vessels. Simplicity and emptiness yield the ultimate universality, embracing the feelings and thoughts of all people. They have been credited with being “resource-saving”, “low-priced”, “simple”, “anonymous” and “nature-oriented”. Without placing a disproportionate emphasis on any of one of these varied assessments, MUJI aims to live up to all. There are more than 1,000 MUJI stores around the world, carrying more than 7,000 items, but the foundation of their ideology hasn’t changed as MUJI continues to orient itself to the basis and universality of daily life.
